Practical Application of Truth and Lie Detection Methods
An innovative two-day course where student volunteers from local colleges describe true or false events. Participants actively engage in questioning the volunteers just as on the street. Inadequate outcome feedback, which are opinions formed about truthfulness without ultimately knowing if the judgments were right or wrong, is a chief reason for low detection rates. This course attacks the problem by providing instant feedback (the answers to the simulations) to numerous truth and lie assessments. Officers chart their progress to determine personal lie detection strengths and weaknesses. Class size is limited to 25.
