Practical Lie Detection

A two-day scenario-based truth and lie detection training course

A two-day scenario-based truth & lie detection training course Thirty years of research indicate most people are only at chance levels at recognizing deception. Forming an opinion about truthfulness without knowing if the opinion was right or wrong, is a major factor for these low detection rates. This practical application class was purposely created to attack the feedback dilemma by allowing the opportunity for participants to use lie and truth detection methods on actual student volunteers that appear in front of the group.

At the end of each mock-up officers are told if the story was true or false. Volunteers are typically recruited from host DNR agencies and from local colleges.

Participants track their truth and lie detection abilities during this two-day course to determine personal strengths and weaknesses.
