Jeff Baile began his law enforcement career in 1976 as a patrol officer with the Mendota Police Department where he received numerous letters of commendations for burglary, drug, and stolen vehicle arrests. A childhood dream to become a game warden was realized when the Illinois Conservation Police hired him in 1979, ultimately assigning him to Peoria County where he spent his entire 26 year career.
Besides patrol duties, he served as breath alcohol examiner, field training and forensics officer, academy instructor, and boat accident investigator. He investigated dozens of complex boating accident deaths in the Peoria area many of which were reckless homicide offenses. Due to his professional interviewing demeanor and expertise in persuasion methods, Jeff was often called upon to investigate dead-end/high profile cases throughout Illinois.
Since 1989 Jeff has instructed thousands of local, county, state and federal law enforcement officers and private security personnel, as an associate of John J. Millner Inc. as well as through his own teaching business. This training has allowed him to travel to various parts of Illinois, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, Arizona, Yukon Territories, Province of Alberta, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Montana, Oregon, New Mexico, West Virginia, Alaska and Kansas. Jeff’s engaging teaching style, experiences, and his characteristic way of injecting humor while teaching, keeps everyone professionally interested.
Jeff is a Certified Forensic Interviewer and has extracted an estimated 5000 confessions from a variety of individuals. He received his B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Illinois at Springfield and resides in Peoria with his wife Jean. When he is not teaching he enjoys the retired life of an avid angler, photographer and fanatical deer hunter.
